Corporate Development Manager
Job description
As a member of the Corporate Development/M&A team, you will evaluate, drive and execute strategic options that accelerate our mission to transform real estate and drive rapid top line growth.
This role will report to the Director, Corporate Development and assist on M&A deals from diligence to close. You will lead market scans of real estate technology segments, understand the leading technology players, develop hypotheses and business cases for acquisitions, and assist to execute these from diligence to negotiations to close. You will work collaboratively with other functions to map the technologies into our product stack, evaluate the target’s strategic and cultural fit with our company, make the business case for an acquisition, partnership, joint venture or other option, and work with internal stakeholders to uncover value and opportunities for the business. You will also be closely involved in post-acquisition/partnership integration, driving continuous revenue growth and sales effectiveness through business analytics, sales strategies, customer research and quarterly business reviews.
An ability to establish credibility and work well with external partners, engineering teams, and senior executives is essential. Key responsibilities
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop theses and business cases for partnerships, investments and acquisitions to enhance View’s strategic and growth objectives.
• Lead market scans of real estate technology and proptech segments and make recommendations.
• Assist in driving M&A deals from due diligence and deal signature to close process, in partnership with cross-functional teams and executives.
• Recommend business models for partnerships. Lead discussions with potential partners and execute agreements
• Build relationships with VCs, bankers, and executives to create a robust M&A pipeline and drive business case development, deal structuring, negotiations and stakeholder management for priority targets.
• Work with the senior leadership team to drive realization of the strategic and financial value from M&A transactions.
• Develop and present high-quality recommendations and deliverables for executive level consumption and contribute to related strategy and execution discussions.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather the right information, pressure test your hypotheses and alternative options, create deliverables, accelerate execution and plan for post-merger integration to unlock and realize deal value.
• Assist strategy development and operations implementations for smart building product segments, including business analytics, customer research, quarterly review process, and ad hoc support.
Required experience
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Successful track record executing partnerships, from structuring through close and partnership management.
• Deep knowledge of the technology hardware, software and real estate ecosystems
• Experience with cross-functional program management.
• Effective verbal and written communication ability and comfortable with both business and technical discussions with senior audiences.
• Ownership mindset – passion to roll up sleeves, get stuff done (GSD), and deliver amazing results in a hyper growth environment.
• Mindset of excellence and detail orientation.
• Demonstrated capacity to understand the big picture of a complex business and think analytically.
